Trondheim Stål and Revolve NTNU

Trondheim Stål has supported Revolve NTNU from the very beginning. As one of our longest-standing partners, they've contributed parts to every single race car we've built — and 2025 is no exception.

Founded in 1989, Trondheim Stål is a Norwegian company specializing in steel products for the construction industry. With more than 50 skilled employees at their facility in Hofstad Næringspark in Melhus, they offer a wide range of production methods — including welding, bending, laser cutting, and water cutting.

For Revolve NTNU, Trondheim Stål provides more than just steel. Each year, they deliver a wide variety of parts across almost all groups in the team. This includes everything from brackets and structural inserts, to key safety components like the welded main hoop — a central part of the chassis.

Their capabilities also extend into more specialized materials. They’ve helped us with precision cutting of carbon fiber inserts, which are used to mount components directly to the monocoque, and aluminium honeycomb sheets that form structural elements in the car. They even cut copper for our high-current busbars in the electrical system. The variety in production makes them our single largest contributor in terms of both the number of parts produced and the number of groups supported.

In addition to producing a great amount of parts for the car, they’ve always been easy to work with and very supportive of the project. Whether it’s meeting tight deadlines or adjusting to last-minute design changes, Trondheim Stål consistently delivers.

We’re proud to have Trondheim Stål as a sponsor, and we’re looking forward to continuing this collaboration.
